Lore
Place in the Pact Worlds
Aasimars are planar scions: mortals touched by celestial lineage. In the Pact Worlds, they are uncommon but widely recognized, especially on Absalom Station and in other multicultural hubs where unusual ancestry is part of daily life.
Reputation and Social Role
In open societies, aasimars are often seen as natural mediators, officers, diplomats, or spiritual leaders. In conservative or isolated communities, the same celestial signs can provoke fear, reverence, or suspicion. Their reputation is less about appearance and more about expectations: many people assume an aasimar must be principled, controlled, and responsible.
Why They Adventure
Aasimars frequently become explorers, pilots, envoys, mercenaries, and investigators. Their celestial heritage does not define a single destiny, but it often creates pressure to choose one. Many leave home to decide whether to follow an ideal, reject it, or redefine it on their own terms.
Physical Description
Aasimars usually resemble their parent species, but many display subtle celestial markers: luminous eyes, metallic sheen in hair or skin tone, unusually calm voice resonance, or faintly radiant skin in low light.
Society
Community Patterns
Aasimars rarely form closed monocultures. They usually integrate into existing societies and build influence through service: diplomacy, medicine, rescue operations, education, and faith communities.
Cultural Tension
Many aasimars carry tension between public expectation and private identity. Some embrace the role of "beacon". Others reject inherited narratives and define themselves through profession, loyalty, and personal code rather than bloodline.
